What are the factors that affect the service life of ozone generators?

Industrial-grade ozone generators can generally last for more than 5 years, but improper use can greatly reduce their lifespan. What factors affect the lifespan of ozone generators?

Gas Source The gas source includes pure oxygen, oxygen machines, and air, dry air, all of which have an important impact on the efficiency and performance of ozone generators. If it is an air source, the water vapor and particles contained in the air need to be removed to a minimum, because impurities in the gas source will affect the discharge effect, thereby reducing the yield and concentration of ozone. On the other hand, a small portion of nitrogen in the air will be oxidized and dissolved in water vapor to form nitric acid, which will cause corrosion to the equipment. The dew point of the source gas should be maintained below -60°C to prevent such occurrences.

Generally, pharmaceutical factories use compressed air as a gas source for ozone generators. If there is no compressed air or if the area is small, an integrated machine (ozone generator with oxygen machine) can be selected. General factories, cold storage warehouses, and farms usually use air as a gas source.

Water Reflux
If the ozone generator is used in water treatment, it is important to prevent water from flowing back into the machine, as this can easily cause a decrease in the yield and concentration of ozone produced by the generator. In severe cases of water ingress, the machine may not be able to operate and will need to be returned to the factory for repair.

Control and Components
For space disinfection, many components are exposed to ozone. The strong oxidizing properties of ozone can easily oxidize components, causing them to become unusable. For large spaces, pipeline ozone generators are often chosen to deliver ozone through central air conditioning to clean areas.

Environment
The environment has a great impact on the machine. For example, food factories have a lot of oil, farm environments are harsh, and cold storage warehouses are humid, all of which can affect the lifespan of ozone generators.
